A river cruise with national celebs, new corporate sponsors, and a creative website are the latest announcements for “Sheriff’s Safety Town.”

Slowly but surely, Safety Town in Caddo Parish is on its way to opening day.

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator announced several new business partners who have signed on to bring a child-sized safety education center called "Safety Town" to Caddo Parish.

Clear Channel Radio and the Caddo Sheriff’s office have teamed up to raise $100,000 for Sheriff’s Safety Town.

The Caddo Sheriff’s Office is selling fish dinners to raise money for the construction of Sheriff’s Safety Town.

After a successful run of nine years and a brief absence, Safety Town is returning to Shreveport - this time in a permanent, year-round location.

VIPs gathered at Sheriff Steve Prator's luncheon announcement that Safety Town will be built at Summer Grove Baptist Church and be open year round.

Safety Town will be about a third as large as the usual urban setting but will carry large lessons for children.
